Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Orlando: What you Need to Know: Part 2

Welcome back everyone to our two part blog on what you need to know about Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Orlando.  Let’s go ahead and get started!

What Should I Eat

Of all the topics covered thus far, I assume the subject of food is the one peaking curiosity levels. Afterall, the only food we’ve ever seen in the Star Wars saga hasn’t exactly looked too appetizing. Unfortunately, the food in Galaxy’s Edge isn’t quite it’s strongsuite. That being said, there are a few dishes worth trying to fulfill the experience. Here are some of these items that are unique and may be worth pairing your taste buds with.

The first snack we would suggest giving a try is a Ronto Roaster. A Ronto Roaster is a savory grilled sausage and roasted pork wrap. The meat is prepared to perfection in a hanging podracer engine being rotated by a pitmaster droid.

The next item we’re hoping to see in Orlando is the Felucian Garden Spread which is a plant-based “kefta” (fancy meatball) with herb hummus and tomato-cucumber relish with pita bread. This is a fan favorite in Anaheim but hasn’t been announced to be served in Orlando quite yet. We really hope to see it!

The last item you may want to check out is the infamous Blue Milk (and green milk). Remember that scene in The Last Jedi where Luke awkwardly milks that slumped over sea creature? Of course you do, its scarred in all of our brains! Well now’s your chance to partake in the weirdness. The milks are frozen, rice-based,(no dairy) berry and melon flavored shakes. In all honesty, they don’t taste all that great but it’s the experience of having it that counts.

What Characters will I See?

Let me just start off by saying there will be no lack of character sightings in Galaxy’s Edge. The characters you may see include Rey, Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, Vi Modari, and a whole lot of stormtroopers. If you want to sneak a photo with one of these characters, rather than asking for a picture, instead ask for a “scan.” They will respond to this since it’s their familiar lingo.

What we love about Galaxy’s Edge characters is that they’re more focused on having an experience with the guest rather than merely taking a picture. They will interact with you and  may even ask for your help in their escape from the stormtroopers. Along with the main characters, the cast members are part of the fun too. They are citizens of the planet and don’t know they’re in a Disney park so don’t be surprised if you get an odd answer from them.

To better interact with the characters, here is some of their lingo they will respond to.
“Bright Suns” = Hello
“Til’ the Spire” = Goodbye
“For the Order” = Shows dedication to First Order

How Much will I Spend?

With anything else, it’s up to you how much or how little you will spend but here are some prices so you can set your expectations. All of these prices are in Galactic Credits and luckily enough, 1 Galactic Credit = 1 US dollar.
Food & Drinks: Similar to other Disney food prices
Build a lightsaber: $200
Build a droid: $100
Full Millenium Falcon Lego set $800
Chewbacca backpack $65

As this blog post comes to an end, we want you to know that Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Orlando will be a blast for anyone and everyone. Whether you’re the biggest fan of all time or maybe you’re just now learning who Luke’s father was, it will be a day worth remembering. Disney truly has put their heart into this and we thank them for that.

Until next time, til’ the spire and may the force be with you.
