Everyone either loves Star Wars, or knows someone that does. But, did you know that legendary character Yoda was almost played by a monkey? Over at #5facts, they compiled 30 lesser known facts about the Star Wars universe! Here are some of our favorites:
The word "Ewok" was never spoken in the original trilogy.

Unbeknownst to fans, the word "Ewok" is never mentioned by any of the characters in the movies. The species is identified in the script and closing credits though.
Boba Fett's face is actually visible (although as a different character) in the original movies.
While Boba Fett is a mysterious character, the actor who played Fett, Jeremy Bullock, did
stand in as an Imperial Officer at the last minute.
"I have a bad feeling about this" became a running gag for the franchise.
While some super fans may have realized this already, the phrase "I have a bad feeling about this" or "I have a very bad feeling about this" is said or mentioned in every Star Wars movie.
Return of the Jedi almost had a very different (and evil) ending.
While developing the story, George Lucas thought about an idea where Luke removes Darth Vaders helmet, and instead of staying on the light side, Luke actually puts on the helmet and exclaims: "Now I am Vader".
Yoda has no "determined" species.
Yoda's species has never been revealed. There was another character,
Yaddle, who was another member of the Jedi Council. Who knows if we will ever find out, but maybe with Baby Yoda creating such a wave of excitement, we will know soon!
Depending on which movie you're watching, Yoda has a different number of toes.
In
The Phantom Menace, Yoda has
three toes. But in all of the other films (
The Empire Strikes Back,
Return of the Jedi and
Revenge of the Sith,) he's got four.
Qui-Gon Jinn used a Gillette razor for his communicator.
In Episode 1, the personal communicator used by Qui-Gon Jinn is actually made from a
resin cast of a Gillette Ladies Sensor Excell Razor. Talk about being a "smooth" communicator.
E.T. (well his race) was in The Phantom Menace.
The alien race of
E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial makes an
appearance in
Episode I: The Phantom Menace — his race is seen during the senate scene, officially connecting the worlds of Star Wars and the Spielberg sci-fi.
Darth Vader (the actor) is banned from all official Star Wars events.
David Prowse, the actor who portrayed Darth Vader, is
banned from attending any official
Star Wars conventions because George Lucas finds him annoying. Luckily, James Earl Jones (the voice of Vader) is still allowed to stick around!
Liam Neeson was "too tall" for his Star Wars character.
After not realizing that Liam Neeson was 6'4", all of the sets for The Phantom Menace had to be rebuilt, costing an extra $150,000 dollars.
"Hamm" from Toy Story makes a cameo in Empire.
