Exploring the different planets of Star Wars

Something unique about Star Wars, is how amazingly large the universe is. There are so many different planets, all with their own races and species. Some of these planets like Tatooine and Hoth are well known because of their roles they play in the Star Wars movies. We wanted to dig deeper into these different planets we have showcased in our Airbnb and share some cool facts and stories about each planet!

Bedroom built after cold planet of hoth
Hoth

The sixth planet in the remote system of Hoth, this was the site of Echo Base, one of the Rebel Alliance's bases during the war against the empire. Hoth was supposedly devoid of human life, with only the Tauntaun and Wampa known to be able to withstand the freezing cold temperatures. Hoth is well known for Han Solo's famous line "And I thought they smelled bad, on the outside!"

Naboo

A world located close to the border of the Outer Rim, Naboo is known for its peaceful humans known as the Naboo, as well as an intelligent species called Gungans. Naboo was the location of the infamous Trade Federation Blockade in The Phantom Menace, and is well known for some of its citizens, including Padme Amidala, Senator Palpatine, and Jar Jar Binks. Naboo is also the location where the secret wedding of Padme and Jedi Anakin Skywalker took place.

Tatooine

Tatooine is a desert world orbiting twin suns in the Outer Rim territories. Best known as the planet where both Anakin and Luke Skywalker grew up, this planet is covered by everything from Smugglers, Gangsters, Tusken Raiders, and lots of sand. As Luke Skywalker once said about his home planet, “If there’s a bright center to the Universe, you're on the planet that its farthest from.” Ruled by the Hutts, Tatooine is also known for its dangerous pod races.

Mustafar

A tiny, fiery planet in the Outer Rim, Mustafar is best known as the location of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker's final duel. Rich in minerals, the Separatist Leaders used this planet as a refuge during the Clone Wars.

Even though he was defeated here, Darth Vader, who was formerly known as Anakin Skywalker, decided to make this planet his home, constructing a large dark-looking castle. According to legend, this castle was built on an ancient Sith Cave.

Bespin

The City in the Clouds was located on Bespin, an immense gas giant planet known for its rare Tibanna gas. Cloud City was under the administration of Lando Calrissian, until it was taken over by the Empire during the Galactic Civil War. After the defeat of the Emperor at the Battle of Endor Cloud city was again able to enjoy freedom.

Endor

Located in a secluded corner of the Galaxy, Endor was the location of the final battle between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire. Home to fan favorite Ewoks, Endor is a luscious planet with all kinds of plant and animal life. While many celebrations were held throughout the galaxy due to the fall of the Galactic Empire, the first celebration took place under the stars among the ancient trees here on Endor!

Dagobah

Known best as the Home of the exiled Jedi Master Yoda, Dagobah was a swamp-covered planet which was teeming with life. Though not civilized, it was home to many different reptilian and amphibian creatures. Dagobah was also the location of the training for soon-to-be Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker. This is also where Luke learned of force sensitive sister, Leia.


Lucky for you, while you can experience a fully immersive trip around the galaxy at Twelve Parsecs, we did make sure to make them comfortable too! There are no creepy crawlies in the Dagobah Room, no wampa to attack you in Hoth, and we promise the temperature in Mustafar will be plenty cool! So the question is, what room will you chose?
